How do I know if I'm in perimenopause, menopause or postmenopause?

Menopause technically lasts for only one day, which is the day you have been 12 consecutive months without a menstrual cycle. The time until this day is 'perimenopause' and the time after this day is 'postmenopause'. Perimenopause is the first stage of the menopause transition, which is the natural decline of ovarian function, where oestrogen production decreases and ovulation stops. It is a delicate period that usually begins 4-10 years before menopause, when the ovaries gradually produce less oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone. 'Menopause' is the day when a woman has gone without a menstrual period for 12 consecutive months and the ovaries have stopped releasing eggs. Postmenopause is the next day after menopause and beyond.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I SHOULD TAKE PERIMENOFRIEND^® OR MENOFRIEND^®?

It is important to understand women that are of menopausal age are healthy adults. As such we provide nutritional products to support good health alongside a balanced diet. Our products can be taken at any age but the dietary challenges when we are older can become more important for some.

Perimenopause is the first stage of menopause that can begin 4-10 years before menopause. We do not recommend taking PeriMenoFriend^® with the combined pill due to interactions between the ingredients in PeriMenoFriend^®that may affect the contraceptive pill.

Can I take PeriMenoFriend^® with the mini pill?

PeriMenoFriend^® is often taken alongside the mini pill (progesterone only). There are a few minor drug-nutrient interactions with this combination so we recommend taking PeriMenoFriend^® at opposite times of the day. We always recommend consulting with your GP or healthcare practitioner before taking supplements if you're on medication, including the mini pill.

CAN I TAKE PERIMENOFRIEND^® IF I’VE HAD A HYSTERECTOMY?

We always recommend consulting with your GP or healthcare practitioner before taking supplements if you have an existing medical condition or taking medication. A full hysterectomy often causes a person to go into surgical menopause immediately when the ovaries have been removed. It is also possible for one or both ovaries to be left intact after a hysterectomy. Ovaries are responsible for producing oestrogen and progesterone. If you still retain your ovaries, you will experience menopause as normal.

WHAT IF I'M ALREADY TAKING MENOFRIEND^®?

MenoFriend^® works in a similar way to PeriMenoFriend^®, helping regulate hormones for a comfortable perimenopause and menopause. We do not recommend taking PeriMenoFriend^® and MenoFriend^® together, so if you do not feel MenoFriend^® is working for you, PeriMenoFriend^® can be taken as an alternative to MenoFriend^®.

SHOULD I TAKE PMS HERO^® and PERIMENOFRIEND^® TOGETHER IF I STILL HAVE PERIODS?

We don't recommend taking PMS Hero^® and PeriMenoFriend^® together, because many of the nutrients are similar and provide additive doses, which isn’t necessary.

CAN I TAKE PERIMENOFRIEND^® and MENOFRIEND^® TOGETHER?
