Why Kid's ProMulti is so good – DR.VEGAN

Why Kid's ProMulti is so good

Created by expert nutritionists for their children, Kid’s ProMulti provides the most comprehensive support for children aged 3-16. A buildup of nutrient deficiencies among children can be common due to narrow food preferences at a young age, impacting their energy, immunity and mood. Kid’s ProMulti is formulated to help protect against deficiencies, supporting optimal immunity, energy and focus at home and at school.

The easy-to-take, tiny capsules can be taken at a dosage of 1, 2 or 3 capsules per day depending on the age of the child. The capsules are also easy to open and add to food or drink if the child doesn’t like swallowing capsules.

Are supplements necessary for children?

Unfortunately, modern busy lives are not on the side of parents, and our little ones don’t always eat the nutrient-dense food we’d like them to eat. Deficiencies in vitamins A and D affect up to 23% of children, rising to 36% in the winter. The minerals iodine, iron and zinc are also often found to be low in adolescent girls. Some nutrients are officially recommended for children to supplement with, such as vitamin D, which contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and vitamin A, which is needed for normal vision.

How it works?

Free from additives, fillers and anything unnecessary – just what their bodies need and nothing they don’t.

Growth and development
  • Children need more nutrition per kg of body weight than adults do. This is due to their rapid growth and development. This nutrition requirement can be hard to obtain, especially in children who can be fussy with food.
  • Adding in an additional source of nutrients such as Kid's ProMulti can help them meet their daily nutritional needs.
  • Some nutrients like vitamins A, D, E and K are officially recommended for children to help support their growth and development.
Fussy eaters and nutritional gaps
  • Many children go through phases of picky eating, which can lead to gaps in nutrition intake. Kid’s ProMulti helps cover these gaps by providing a reliable daily source of essential nutrients, even on days when their diet falls short.
  • Low iron levels are common in fussy eaters. Iron contributes to normal cognition.
  • Fussy eaters may have a lower gut microbial diversity, which is where gut-friendly bacteria supplementation can come in.
Nutrient absorption support
  • Nutrient absorption is just as important as nutrient intake. Kid’s ProMulti includes bioavailable and methylated forms of nutrients, e.g. methylfolate instead of folic acid, methylcobalamin instead of cyanocobalamin, for superior absorption, even in children with common genetic variants like MTHFR.
  • Some children struggle to absorb nutrients properly if they do not have the right number of probiotics. Probiotics in the gut contribute massively to the amount of digestive enzymes in the gut which facilitates digestion and the absorption of nutrients from food.
Mood and behaviour support
  • Nutrients like magnesium, B6 and B12 contribute to the normal function of the nervous system and play a role in the synthesis of neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine,  helping support mood balance, attention, and emotional resilience in children.
  • Nutrients like iron contribute towards normal cognition and can deplete in some fussy eaters.
Energy and vitality
  • Kid’s ProMulti is formulated with nutrients to support energy and vitality, which in turn help the body to cope better with the demands of school, learning and play.
  • B vitamins are water-soluble, which means we cannot store excess amounts, so they need to be replenished each day. Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 , Biotin and B12 along with other key nutrients like Calcium contribute to normal energy release. Kid’s ProMulti provides methylated forms of B vitamins, which provide ‘body-ready’ forms of these nutrients, supporting superior absorption.
  • Magnesium helps reduce tiredness and fatigue. Magnesium can support the body, as it helps to facilitate energy at a cellular level and is involved in over 300 enzymatic processes in the body. It plays an important role in optimising the enzyme that helps synthesise ATP, a key component that generates energy in each of our cells.2-5
Bones, teeth and muscle function
  • Supporting the healthy growth of bones, teeth and muscles is vital for children of all ages as their bodies grow and develop.
  • Vitamin K2 and D3 support the body in directing calcium to where it is needed the most, including to the bones, and aid calcium’s absorption.

Boron also plays an important role in bone health, while calcium and magnesium work in synergy to support muscle function.

Brain function and development
  • Children's brains develop at a rapid rate and require nutrients to develop neurotransmitters and cell communication throughout the brain to optimise learning ability and cognitive behaviour.
  • Vitamin B5 supports mental performance while Vitamin C and Iodine support the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Immune function and digestive health
  • School classrooms and playgrounds can be full of bugs which are important to build and develop immunity among children. It’s important to ensure children have adequate levels of nutrients to help protect them from bugs and recover faster when they do get them.
  • Zinc, Selenium and Vitamin C contribute to the normal function of the immune system.
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus is provided at 1 billion CFU per capsule. Lactobacillus acidophilus has been extensively studied for its impact on the gut microbiome and overall health including reduced sick days from school.

Evidence shows that the gut microbiome can impact other areas of health, far beyond gut health. Gut microbiota metabolites influence bone metabolism, which in turn can be a beneficial area of health to look into when supporting bone mass and density.

Heart health
  • Vitamins like B6, Folate (B9) and B12 play a key role in supporting homocysteine metabolism. High levels of homocysteine are a risk factor for cardiovascular problems later on in life, so keeping it in check with nutrients like vitamin B6, folate and vitamin B12 is essential for long-term health.
  • Vitamin K contributes to normal blood clotting and Vitamin B1 supports the normal function of the heart.
  • Along with a healthy, balanced diet and an active lifestyle, Kid’s ProMulti helps provide optimal dosages of these nutrients in their most bioavailable forms, supporting absorption and efficacy.
Healthy vision
  • Vitamin A supports the maintenance of healthy vision. Vitamin A supports the surface of the eye, mucous membranes and skin to be effective barriers against bacteria and viruses, which can in turn provide a protective role.
  • Consuming foods containing Vitamin A along with antioxidants from bright, colourful plants and vegetables also exerts a protective effect on eye health by lowering oxidative stress.
  • Vitamin C is also an antioxidant nutrient that helps to protect the eyes from oxidative damage.
Sleep

Magnesium and B vitamins are needed to help children unwind, relax, get to sleep and stay asleep. Having the optimal amount of nutrients helps to make sleep and relaxation hormones, helping your little one to get more rest.

Hair skin and nails
  • Having the right amount of nutrition, especially nutrients like biotin and vitamins C and E, is essential for the health of children's hair, skin and nails.
  • The skin especially provides an important barrier against diseases entering the body. It is one of the first lines of defence against diseases.

Nutrition for children at different developmental stages

As children go through the toddlers’ years and into adolescence, their dietary requirements will vary mostly in quantity rather than in variety to accommodate healthy growth and brain development. Discover how nutritional dietary requirements differ between different age groups.
