pH Hero® is a nutritional supplement developed by DR.VEGAN®, formulated to support vaginal pH balance and common vaginal and urinary tract health issues, including UTIs, thrush, BV, dryness, discomfort, and itchiness. A wider DR.VEGAN® survey of 1,202 women documents that these conditions are highly prevalent and inadequately managed by widely used remedies such as cranberry juice. This abstract reports individual-level user-reported outcomes for pH Hero®, including effectiveness ratings, time to benefit, and issue-level outcomes, with comparisons to other management strategies where relevant. The survey was conducted by DR.VEGAN®, July 2024.
Of 1,202 survey respondents, 1,067 answered whether they had tried pH Hero®. Those who had (n=79) were asked their overall effectiveness rating (four-point scale: extremely effective, somewhat effective, not so effective, not at all effective), how long after starting pH Hero® they first experienced benefits, and which specific areas had improved. All analyses are based on individual-level responses.
Of 1,067 respondents who answered the pH Hero® question, 79 (7.4%) had tried the product. This reflects pH Hero’s position as a newer, specialist supplement within a market dominated by creams, pessaries, and cranberry juice. Free-text comments indicated considerable latent demand, with multiple respondents expressing strong intent to try the product, suggesting awareness is a greater barrier than willingness.
Overall effectiveness. Of 75 pH Hero® users who provided an effectiveness rating, 38.7% (n=29) rated it as extremely effective and 40.0% (n=30) as somewhat effective, yielding a combined positive response rate of 78.7%. A total of 17.3% (n=13) rated it not so effective and 4.0% (n=3) not at all effective. The extremely effective rating of 38.7% is the highest single-category top-box score of any remedy assessed in this survey. See Figure 1.

pH Hero’s combined positive rate of 78.7% compares with 86.0% for creams and pessaries, 86.2% for dietary changes, 69.6% for probiotic supplements, 68.7% for urinary tract supplements, and 59.3% for cranberry juice. pH Hero® records the highest extremely effective rating of any remedy assessed. Of responsive pH Hero® users, 30.9% noticed improvement within two weeks of starting the product, and 75.0% within four weeks. See Figure 3.

Of 72 users who reported specific improvements, the most frequently addressed areas were itchiness (33.3%, n=24), discomfort (33.3%, n=24), and dryness (31.9%, n=23), followed by thrush (26.4%, n=19), overall pH balance (26.4%, n=19), and UTIs (25.0%, n=18). See Figure 4.

Open-ended comments provided vivid qualitative support. “This product has been incredible”; “The pills have been absolutely amazing for my vaginal health — a total life changer”; “pH Hero really works … if I run out of supplements, I notice a big reduction in comfort”; “I was always aware of my bladder … since pH Hero I can’t feel my bladder at all even when I need to go — it has calmed right down; it’s back to how it was." A small number of adverse observations were noted (one user: bloating; one user: skin itching on the torso), though neither described this as a reason for discontinuation.
Based on user-reported outcomes, pH Hero® achieves a combined positive effectiveness rate of 78.7%, with the highest single-category extremely-effective rating (38.7%) of any remedy assessed in the survey, including creams, pessaries, and probiotic supplements. Three-quarters of responsive users experience benefits within four weeks. Its benefit profile spans both daily-living concerns (dryness, discomfort, itchiness) and recurrent conditions (UTIs, thrush, pH imbalance). Qualitative feedback is strongly positive, with several users describing transformative improvements. These findings position pH Hero® as a compelling evidence-informed option for women managing vaginal health issues, particularly those in the peri- and post-menopausal transition.
