Bioavailable ingredients that work harder for you

Grape Seed Extract

Grape Seed helps protect your body and skin's cells against free radicals, improving the health and appearance of your skin.

Hyaluronic acid

Found in almost all the cells in our body, Hyaluronic acid is fundamental to your skin's moisture and hydration, helping keep a young and youthful complexion.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is vital for our immune health, wound healing and for the health of our skin through its central role in collagen production and supporting blood vessels feeding our skin.

Lactobacillus Acidophilus

One of the most clinically trialled bacteria, Acidophilus is a gut-friendly bacteria helping the digestive system break down sugars, such as lactose into lactic acid.

Green Tea

Green Tea is from the same plant as Earl Grey and English Breakfast tea, but hasn't undergone the withering and oxidation process, so it retains more health benefits, particularly as an antioxidant.

Inulin

Inulin is a gut-friendly fibre that helps friendly, active bacteria in your gut to grow. Inulin is a 'prebiotic', and prebiotics are vital to the health of probiotics.

Algae

Algae is one of the main starting points for omega 3 in the food chain and is the source of our Vegan Omega 3, vital for our heart, brain and eye health, and much more.

Questions? We have answers:

When should I take Skin Saviour®

Skin Saviour® contains active, skin-friendly bacteria so it’s important to take your capsules at least 20 minutes before or after a hot drink - otherwise, the heat of food or drink can harm the active bacteria. Ideally take your capsules on an empty stomach, together or separately during the day. We recommend 2 capsules daily.

Does Skin Saviour® contain collagen?

No. There is no such thing as a vegan collagen supplement. The only 'vegan collagen' is what we produce in our bodies ourselves. Collagen comes from animals, mainly cattle or fish, or it is created in our body from amino acids.

Instead, Skin Saviour® is a science-led formula that fuels your body's own vegan collagen production for a clearer, glowing skin complexion and healthier ageing.

Why does Skin Saviour® include probiotics?

Our skin is often a reflection of what is happening within the body. Our gut microbiome, with trillions of bacteria, is our second brain via the gut-brain axis and is central to the function of our whole body, from our mental performance and hormone balance to our body's production of collagen and the health and appearance of our skin.

Skin Saviour® includes 5bn CFU of probiotics alongside prebiotics to help fuel your body's own natural collagen production. In addition, many skin conditions can be caused or heavily influenced by our gut health, including rosacea, acne, psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis. These conditions are correlated to imbalances in your gut, so the probiotics in Skin Saviour®, alongside the other vital ingredients, help with these conditions and fuel your body's own natural collagen production.

When will I notice a difference in my skin?

Skin Saviour® is a unique formula of clinically proven actives to rejuvenate your skin. Skin Saviour® includes probiotics, so remember to take your two capsules on an empty stomach at least 20 minutes before or after hot food or drink.

Within 3 weeks of taking your two Skin Saviour® capsules each day, you will begin to notice a reduction in blemishes and breakouts. Your skin should start to appear softer, plumper and more hydrated.

After 4-5 weeks, your skin will begin to appear smoother, and you can expect visible signs of fewer wrinkles as your body's own natural collagen production begins to kick in.

After 8-10 weeks your skin complexion will appear brighter, clearer and with fewer blemishes or redness.

Are skin supplements safe?

Skin supplements are generally safe. Supplements are heavily regulated in the UK and EU. As with all supplements, if you are taking any medications, you should ask a qualified health professional as to the suitability of skin supplements.

Do skin supplements really work?

Yes, there are several nutrients which have been proven to support skin health.

  • Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin and provides protection of cells from oxidative stress.
  • Collagen is the main structural component in skin and is responsible for its stretch and elasticity.
  • Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cell constituents from oxidative damage.
  • Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, hair and nails. Zinc is required for DNA synthesis and for the proper turnover of skin cells. It is also needed for normal testosterone levels, which then regulate the thickness of sebum secretions in the skin.
  • Selenium also contributes to the protection of DNA, proteins and lipids from oxidative damage, helping the skin cells to stay healthy.
  • Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, as it is needed for the normal skin cell turnover.

You can find these ingredients in Skin Saviour®

How do skin supplements work?

Skin is the largest organ of the human body and skin supplements can provide a number of benefits for skin.

  • Protecting against blemishes, rashes, acne, and conditions such as rosacea and psoriasis
  • Supporting collagen, which is a protein providing structure and elasticity to skin
  • Protecting skin against pollution and stress
  • Regenerating skin cells
  • Regulating natural oils in skin
  • Supporting a glowing, healthy look of skin
  • Reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in skin
  • Supporting faster healing of skin when damaged
What supplements should I take for glowing skin?

Pair Skin Saviour® with our Vegan Omega 3, this powerful bundle helps support clearer, healthier and glowing skin. The Omega 3 fatty acids in Vegan Omega 3 help maintain skin moisture and flexibility, while the nutrients in Skin Saviour® support the skin's structural integrity, leading to a more supple and glowing complexion.

Does taking hyaluronic acid supplements help skin?

Found in almost all the cells in our body, Hyaluronic acid is fundamental to your skin's moisture and hydration, helping keep a young and youthful complexion. Hyaluronic acid is a water-holding molecule in the skin which is bound to collagen and holds up to 1000 times its own weight in water. As well as supporting healthy ageing and skin moisture, it supports healing of wounds and improves collagen synthesis.

What does collagen do for the skin?

Collagen is a protein, made from joined-up amino acids, and plays an important role in our bodies. While most people think of collagen only for skin health, it actually has many more benefits than just for our skin, including supporting healthy blood vessels, bones, gums, joints and ligaments.

How to produce collagen in skin?

Our bodies naturally produce collagen from three amino acids - glycine, proline and arginine - which we consume directly in our diet, or they're produced from other amino acids in our diet. Our bodies can't absorb collagen, which is why it is more effective to fuel your body's own collagen production.

How to increase collagen production in skin?

It's more effective to increase collagen production via your diet, or a supplement formulated to increase your own body's collagen production, than taking a collagen supplement.

What does vitamin C do for your skin?

Vitamin C supports the health of our skin through its central role in collagen production and supporting blood vessels feeding our skin.

Is grape seed extract good for skin?

Grape seed helps protect your body and skin's cells against free radicals, improving the health and appearance of your skin.

Is lactobacillus good for skin?

There is a strong link between the skin and the gut. Most Lactobacillus strains produce short-chain fatty acids which are then absorbed and are incorporated into the skin, where they contribute towards skin moisturisation.

Can you take omega 3 while pregnant?

Yes! Omega 3 fatty acids play a big role in a baby’s brain development, which is made up of nearly 60% fat, specifically DHA. DR.VEGAN's Vegan Omega 3 contains the optimal dose of DHA (300mg) and EPA (150mg). As DR.VEGAN's Vegan Omega 3 is sourced from algae, instead of fish, it doesn't contain toxic metals that fish oils may contain. You can find the DR.VEGAN® Vegan Omega 3 in our Comprehensive Pregnancy Bundle.

When to take omega 3 supplements: morning or night?

Omega 3 can be taken anytime of day, with or without food.

How long does it take for omega 3 to work?

Results will vary from person to person. Most people will notice a difference after a week; however, the full benefits can take up to 3 months.

Can I take omega 3 with vitamin d?

Yes. Both of these are needed by most people.
