Background

Debloat & Detox® is a nutritional supplement in the DR.VEGAN® range, targeted specifically at bloating and associated digestive discomfort. Bloating is the most prevalent gut health symptom and one of the most commonly cited motivations for investing in gut health in surveys conducted by DR.VEGAN® (77.3% of respondents), so a product focused on this symptom addresses a primary unmet need. This abstract reports individual-level user-reported outcomes for Debloat & Detox from a wider cross-sectional survey, including effectiveness, time to benefit, and benefit profile. The survey was conducted by DR.VEGAN®, October 2022.

Methods

Of 811 survey respondents, 738 answered whether they had tried Debloat & Detox. Those who had (n=335) were asked: their overall effectiveness rating (six-point scale); time to benefit; and which specific areas had improved. A likelihood-to-recommend score (1–10) was also collected. A secondary analysis excluded respondents who answered ‘too early to tell’ (n=49), leaving a rated cohort of 285. All analyses are based on individual-level data.

Results

Uptake

Of 738 respondents who answered the Debloat & Detox question, 335 (45.4%) had tried the product.

Overall effectiveness

Across all 334 rated users, 11.4% (n=38) rated Debloat & Detox as extremely effective, 20.7% (n=69) as very effective, and 36.8% (n=123) as somewhat effective. A total of 9.0% (n=30) rated it not so effective, 7.5% (n=25) not at all effective, and 14.7% (n=49) too early to tell. Among the 285 definitively rated users (excluding ‘too early to tell’), the combined positive response rate was 80.7%, with 37.5% rating Debloat & Detox as extremely or very effective. The negative response rate among rated users was 19.3%. See Figure 1 for the full effectiveness distribution.

Gut Works® achieved a combined positive rate of 83.0% among rated users, compared with 80.7% for Debloat & Detox. These differences likely reflect the broader multi-symptom formulation of Gut Works® relative to the more targeted bloating and digestive profile of Debloat & Detox.

Conclusions

Based on user-reported outcomes, individual-level analysis of this survey demonstrates that Debloat & Detox achieves a combined positive response rate of 80.7% among definitively rated users, with over half experiencing improvements within two weeks.
