How it works?

Magnesium Glycinate provides 300mg of elemental magnesium as bisglycinate, the form best tolerated and most commonly taken in the evening, with no additives, fillers or binders.

In our study, every user who gave a definitive rating found it effective, and 91% of those who had tried other magnesium supplements rated ours better, with nearly three quarters saying a lot better.

Sleep and winding down

Sleep is what most people come to magnesium for, and it is where the effect is clearest. Magnesium regulates the switch between your nervous system's alert state and its calm one.

Sleep was the reason 86% of people in our study started taking it, and 81% of those seeking better sleep reported getting it. Almost everyone in that study took it in the evening.

Why bisglycinate, and why it matters

The form of magnesium matters more than the number on the front of the pack. Cheaper inorganic forms such as magnesium oxide are poorly absorbed and draw water into the bowel, which is why magnesium has a reputation for loosening things.

Bisglycinate is different. The magnesium is bound to glycine, an amino acid, which lets it absorb through a different route and makes it far gentler on your digestion. Glycine is not just a carrier either: it is a calming neurotransmitter in its own right, which is part of why this form better suits sleep.

Stress and your nervous system

Stress and magnesium work against each other. Stress increases how much magnesium you lose, and low magnesium makes your nervous system more reactive to stress, so demanding times in life deplete magnesium exactly when you need it most.

Magnesium is clinically proven to support your psychological function and nervous system. Among people in our study who started taking it for stress or anxiety, 68% reported a benefit.

Muscles, cramp and recovery

Your muscles need magnesium to relax. Calcium drives contraction and magnesium allows the release, so when magnesium runs short, muscles are slower to let go, which results in cramp, twitching and tension.

Magnesium is clinically proven to support healthy muscle function and protein synthesis, and it maintains your electrolyte balance alongside it. Six in ten people in our study who started for muscle aches reported relief.

Everything else magnesium does

Magnesium is a cofactor in over 300 enzyme reactions in your body, which makes it one of the hardest-working minerals you have and one of the most commonly low.

It fuels energy-yielding metabolism, supports healthy bones and teeth, protein synthesis and cell division. Modern diets tend to run short of magnesium because it comes mainly from wholegrains, leafy greens, nuts and seeds, and soil levels have fallen.

Why it keeps getting better

Ratings climb the longer people take it. Among users who took our Magnesium Glycinate for under two months, 35% rated it 'extremely effective', and this rises to 93% among those who take it for four months or more.

47% of people feel a difference within one to two weeks and 98% within eight.

Did you know, there are over 10 different types of Magnesium you can get in a supplement?

The difference between the different forms of Magnesium is how they are sourced and how well they are absorbed into the body. The Magnesium you'll find in standard supplements will contain additives and animal ingredients which can cause side effects and of course, reduce their absorption and effectiveness. Clinical studies show the citrate form in our Magnesium is the most easily and efficiently absorbed by your body for most people.
